The barns themselves are surrounded by some beautiful farmland, with plenty of scope for some nice walks, and there is a river nearby to indulge twitchers and fishers both.
The market town of Hingham is a 5 minute drive away, and is the perfect place to stock up for your holiday, with a local butcher, baker and country pub. There are also a number of local farm shops and butchers selling locally-sourced meat, as well as the popular GR Bunning Fishmongers, known locally as Bunnings Fish, who provides an excellent range of locally-sourced fish and shellfish for your plate.

North Norfolk Coast
The beautiful North Norfolk coast, and towns such as Holt, Sheringham and Cromer are all within an hours drive, along with the holiday resort of Hemsby for those who crave a little more action and noise.
The market town of East Dereham is a short drive away; there are twice-weekly markets in it’s town centre, as well as facilities such as a sports centre, bowling alley and cinema. The tourist train line here also offer steam train rides during weekends throughout the summer period.
The Cathedral city of Norwich is a 30 minute drive from our cottages, and offers everything you could want from a city, including a castle, as well as a large market and shopping outlets.
The Norfolk Broads
The famous Norfolk Broads can be reached in less than an hour. Take long walks along the Broads, or hire a boat and cruise the waterways. Or just sit and watch the world go by whilst you spy on some of the rare birds that inhabit the area.
Thetford Forest High Lodge can be reached within a 45 minute drive. This is the perfect place for all of your forest activities, from cycle hire to “Go Ape” and Segway adventures, and paintball for both adults and children. There are also a large amount of forest walks available, or you could just sit under the canopy and enjoy a picnic.
Breckland offers a wealth of activities for the hungry tourist. The Iceni Village is a great day out for kids of all ages, or if you want a day out for the bigger kids then keep with the Bronze age theme with a trip to the Iceni Brewery or The English Whiskey Company. If you’re looking for something more historical, then Grimes Graves is less than an hour away.
National Trust Properties
There are a number of National Trust properties which are all easily reachable from our cottages, including Blicking Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Oxburgh Hall.
